My Dad’s family line comes through the Mayflower too… the surname Randall, I think. Although his Mom’s married name was Bennett. I’ll have to dig out the ol’ papers on it to see the details again.

It seems that I have also found out that our family tree goes back to George Soule. Our family makes a few turns to make it to George Soule, but interesting enough it does
George Soule Mary Bucket/Beckett
Patience Soule John Haskell
John Haskell Mary Squire
Mary Haskell Samuel Whitmore
Martha Whitmore Ebenezer Covell
Ebenezer Covell Sabrina Childs
Ebenezer J Covell Catherine Bennette
Helen Covell Frances Coykendall

I think your mother may be incorrect with her lineage. I agree down to William Soule b. 1670 but then I show his son George born 1695 marrying Lydia Howland as the father of Benjamin Soule who married Elizabeth Davis. Not William’s son Joseph. I show Joseph ending up in North Carolina but I don’t know who he married. What do you think?

Yes, millions of others are also descended, but only a fraction of that number actually care about their heritage enough to research it and take pride in it.

I just today found out my ancestory links to yet another Mayflower family. I am trying to find the line from George to his daughter Elizabeth who married Francis Walker. If anyone has information I sure would appreciate it. According to my records it goes: George-Mary Beckett to Elizabeth and Francis Walker to daughter Elizabeth who married a Henry Sweet. From there it goes to John Sweet-Lydia Whaley; Mary Sweet-David Sweet; Mary Sweet [their daughter]-Edmund Tefft; Sarah Tefft-Archelaus Parker; Wanton Horatio Parker-Roseanna LaMont; Roseanna Hannah Parker-William Hayes; Susanna Roseann Hays-Philip Whetstine; Ida Mae Whetstine-Joseph Bell; Carl Edward Bell-Marjorie Alvert Runyon; Carl Herbert Bell-Ruby Frain; to me.
My line also links with several other Mayflower families including the Cooke; Fuller; Allerton; and Winslow branchs.

I am Susanna Soule and Mose’s Bennetts gr.gr.gr grandaughter through their son I.J. Bennett.
I live in Raleigh, NC. I am very proud of my Mayflower heritage.

Hi Michael and Tammy,
That makes me a 4th cousin once removed to both of you. HA… i think…
Susanna is my great great grandmother.
Have a great day. It’s very nice to be a Mayflower descendant and be able to prove it. It made visiting Plymouth very exciting for me.

By the way Keith [above] is correct…
Your Joseph 1701 should be George 1695 then Benjamin as you have it.

I was messing around on ancestry.com and came across this and am just kind of seeing what anyone thinks as far as if it sounds right - you know how the internet is. The first person in each line is the decendant of the following line.
-Me
-Son of Jeri Hird and Jeff Ost
-Daughter of Max Hird and Barbara Ellingson
-Son of Nyva Johnson and William Hird
-Daughter of Belle Mowers and Livy Johnson
-Daughter of Sarah Maria Soule and Leonard Mowers
-Daughter of John Sanford Soule and Maria Kingsbury
-Son of Hiram Barlow Soule and Hiram Barlow Soule
-Son of Joseph Soule and Eunice Hungerford
-Son of Timothy Soule and Elizabeth Allen
-Son of Nathan Soule and Mary Gifford
-Son of George Soule, Jr. and Deborah Thomas
-Son of George Soule and Mary Becket

In reply to Keith and Bob - thanks for your input on the Soules.
The reason I have Joseph instead of George is this:
In “Mayflower Families in Progress George Soule , 5th and 6th Generations”, published in 2003:
page 153 Benjamin (b. 1790) is married to Susannah Norton.
Page 152 vi, says Benjamin’s father is Jonathan (b. 1761) married to Sara Hatfield, and Jonathan’s father is Benjamin (b. 1728)
Page 150 Benjamin Soule (b. 1728) married Elizabeth Davis. His father is listed as Joseph.
Page 151 Note: “A letter dated 28 Dec 1948 to Lt Col. Soule provided information on one Benjamin Soule and his wife Elizabeth Davis. It would appear Soule researchers from that time assumed this Benjamin Soule was identical with Benjamin Soule, son of George [See family #521], who m. Abigail Howland, and so assumed two wives for one Benjamin Soule. Since both Benjamin Soule’s had children born in 1761, they have to be separate persons.
I had the books tracing the lineage before I had any approved lineage from the Mayflower Society. Their approved lineage does have George Soule as Benjamin’s father, not Joseph.

For Vicky post #5
Francis Walker and Elizabeth had only one child named Isaac, and possible a daughter named Patience (very probable but not proved) Elizabeth had a child named Mary that was of unamed father, Elizabeth Soule married Francis Walker as a result of the pregnancy. Mayflower Society only reckognizes Isaasc as they refuse to onsider the evidence that contradits Robert Anderson

Lewis William Sowles III: I believe your facts here are incorrect in regard to Anna Sewell, wife of William Soule both who die in Alburgh, VT. I am a direct descendant of Joseph Sewell, Anna’s brother. Joseph & Anna Sewell were the last two children of the union of Timothy Sewall of Boston and his 2nd wife, Bridget Lyndsey MAVR’s intentions 30June1735. Joseph was born 1737/8 & Anna born 1739/40 both Mendon, Worcester Co., MA Worcester Co guardianship probate records 1753. Joseph & Anna were willed land (Will of Timothy Sewell 1753, probated 1753–Nov 1754) which they sold in 1759 & 1762 respectively MA land records the source. They along with step sisters & husbands, Elkanah & Margaret Sewell Sherman and Lemuel (often transcribed as Samuel) & Rebekah Sewell Lewis were all residing in Beekman Precinct, Dutchess Co., NY at the time of the sales (MA Land records). In June of 1762 when Anna sold her land, she was not yet married to William Soule. At some point there after they did marry and lived for a spell where most of their children were born in Spencertown in what is now Columbia Co., NY, but at the time was in Albany Co., NY. Their land was confiscated and they fled during the Revolution. William was a Royalist or Loyalist. However, to date his parentage has not been settled by any reliable historical record. A marriage date nor place of marriage has been found to date. The did migrage via Lower Canada to Alburgh, in what is now known as Grand Isle Co., VT by the early 1780’s. There are many guesses published out there. Someone else’s guesses doe not make them fact just because they are published. Regards.
